Emma & Nick wedding film

About the Couple

Venue – Slaughters Manor House
Photographer – Ivory Fayre
Make Up Artist – Christine Cara

Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?
As a momento of the day and to be able to rewatch it.  Other people we know have said the day goes too fast to take everything in, so it will be nice to see those bits.

Why did you pick Mills Films to do your wedding videography?
When watching your sample videos we noticed a lovely attention to detail that was not present in a lot of people’s work.  Emma did a lot of google searching for videographers before we arrived at a final decision.

You guys? …What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What’s important in life? etc etc
We are both patent attorneys (we advise people on how best to protect their intellectual property) and work at the same firm in Birmingham city centre – we met when Emma started work a bit over 4 years ago.  Basically, we are both scientists turned lawyers.  We spend our days in the office.  At home, we have a dog who keeps us entertained.

The proposal? …Tell me everything (all the gushy details)
Christmas Eve 2016 – Nick got down on one knee after we had finished decorating our Christmas tree (our first Christmas in our first home we bought together) with live carols from Kings in the background.  It was lovely and just the two of us (and the dog).

The Venue/s? … Why this place above anywhere else?
We’re having a small ceremony and reception, so we needed to find somewhere that wouldn’t look ridiculously big for our small party.  Slaughters has a beautiful light ceremony room that holds more or less the right number of people.  The food is also important and the chef at Slaughters is very good.

What experience do you want to give to your guests?
We just want them to have a fun relaxing day and join in with our celebration.
